Happy Summer everyone! Summer is in full swing and full bloom! The butterflies are flittering around and it's a beautiful site. I got this card inspiration from my butterfly bush and all the butterflies swarming around. Did you know there is a moth nicknamed the hummingbird moth? it true, see my additional photos below.

I am taking a class to become educator certified by Altenew and this is an entry for a class project. Easy Ink Blending techniques is the category for this class.

I used a cream card base from my stash, a black card panel and a piece of water color paper to do my ink blending.

My card base is the standard A2 5 1/2 by 4 1/4 top folding. My black card panel is 5 3/8 by 4 1/8. My water color paper is cut to 5 1/4 by 4. I stamped the images in a cascading triangular form top to bottom using versa fine clear ink. the stampset i used was the Stamp and Paint: Butterflies by Altenew. I used my antistatic embossing buddy to remove and oils and static on my water color panel before stamping, stamped and covered with white embossing powder from my stash. heat set till all melted. i let cool then i used inks and blending brushes in rainbow order from bottom to top.

The ink colors I used were by Altenew: Puffy Heart, Rose Quartz, Blush, Velvet, Autumn Blaze, Firebrick, Citrus Burst, Honey Drizzle. I started out with the lightest shade and let it dry. I went b ack on each butterfly and used the darker shade on the image to darken it up. After the ink was dry I used my water spray bottle and did water droplets to get that "sprinkled" look. Mounted to a black panel and mounted that to my card base. I stamped sentiment and added my black enamel dots. This bright cheery card is sure to encourage my recipient! Leave me a comment and ley me know if you have tried this technique: emboss resist and ink blending.
